My Chemical Peel Experience

When it comes to Chemical Peels, the results are wonderful -- peels reduce wrinkle depth and fine lines, while evening out the tone and texture of the skin.

Chemical Peels are great for reducing sun damage that has incurred over the summer, and also suitable for treating Melasma and Post-Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation (PIH), which is typically caused by acne lesions.

When it comes to the peeling process, not everyone wants to peel -- but they want the benefits of a peel.

Recently, I chose the iS Clinical Prodigy Peel System because of its intelligent ingredients. It is truly a designer peel that works with the DNA ladders of the skin.

The peel is medical-grade, meaning the highest quality pharmaceutical ingredients are used to penetrate into the dermis layer, but it doesn’t leave me with a lot of downtime. The Prodigy Peel System doesn’t burn the skin -- it keeps the skin’s healthy DNA, while repairing damaged DNA and getting rid of dead skin.

Other Chemical Peels may burn the skin and remove both good and bad DNA. The Prodigy Peel System does not change the pH of your skin.

The peeling process of the Prodigy Peel System involves micro-flaking, instead of peeling in large sheets. I don’t like a long healing process with a lot of peeling.

Above: My full, 14-day healing process. My peeling started at the end of day two, around my mouth. That's usually where the peeling starts because of muscle movement. It moved up my face, and then down my neck on days five, six and seven. The process was pretty easy; more flaking and not sheet-peeling. I love the results.

At PURE Face Care, we offer an array of Chemical Peels, from Mild and Medium to Deep, Medical-Grade Peels. With varying healing processes, some peels have light micro-flaking or deep-sheet peeling. All have beautiful results.

I like the gradual process of peeling coming off the skin -- I love the results. I typically do two Chemical Peels during the fall, and maybe throw in a mild peel as well.

To maintain the results of a Chemical Peel, I love to apply face masks during the week. I’ll do at least two masks. One might be brightening and lightening, while the other is hydrating, depending on how my skin is feeling.

I also like to incorporate Peel Pads to maintain the results of a Chemical Peel. Browse the gallery below for my Face Mask and Peel Pad recommendations!
